I have a degree in Electrical Engineering but I have worked in computer support, system administration, and software development for the last decades. I'm not an expert, but rather a generalist. "Generalist" was even my job title for a while. My first home computer connection was dial up to a system on the Internet. My first home Internet connection was dial up PPP but I was an early user of Roadrunner cable Internet. My first web browser was NCSA Mosaic on SunOS.
I was using the Internet before it was commercial, worked at one of the companies that predates the Internet but is now part of it, and I've seen most of the technology people struggle with today as the technology was created.
